Simple Hedonisms is proud to support Ed Thrall's 2nd Annual Twitter event #PinotSmackdown. As we did for the very successful #chardonnay day greenhouse tasting, we will be offering a walk around tasting, showcasing elegant, no syrah added fruit bomb, Pinot Noirs.

RSVP: Event capacity is controlled by RSVPs. A number of people has accidently RSVPd repeatedly, taking a ticket each time. You should be able to check if your email already has. (Make an Eventbrite account under that email helps.)

Selected Wineries: Wineries have been selected from over 30 samples submitted, and selected from a tasting panel of 5 judges, including 2 winemakers. Wines were organized into groups, tasted blind, and the top in each category asked to pour.

These world class winners include: Sojourn Cellars, Londer Vineyards, Gloria Ferrer, Baxter, Krutz Family Cellars, Windsor Vineyards, Bjornstad Cellars, Freestone, Foppiano, Deux Punx, Joseph Swan, Inman Family Wines.

Many of these are pouring two pinots, so grab your spit cup and dig in~!

An ABC license for the event will be in place, so wineries can take orders. Please support your local artisans.

Venue Details: I am again holding the tasting at my new Farm/Vineyard in the Greenhouse. There is no charge for the event, but a $5-10 donation to help defray expenses is appreciated, a portion of which is donated to the YWCA.

Please note, this is a working farm, with parts under contrusction, including the new vineyard.

Start time :is 6 pm. We end promptly at 8 pm, so don't be late!

Food Truck! I am pleased to have Street-Eatz as a sponsor, bring a food truck so you can snack or eat dinner. Normal charges for this have been waived to make this possible, I encourage you to take advantage and grab a bite.

Menu items will include:pulled pork tacos, Mediterranean plate (no meat), New Orleans chicken pasta, (mild) Coconut yellow curry chicken and veggies, and rosemary fries.

Outside Lounge: As with #Chardonnay day, there will be an outside lounge area. Take a break, grab a bite, chat with friends.

Provided: Stems, spit cups, water, amazing Pinot, name tag. You will also be given a detailed tasting sheet and voting sheet, and be asked to select your top 3 Wines of the night.

What to Bring:

• If you have a clipboard to carry around your tasting sheet and scoring card, would be helpful.(I have about 30)
• Stemware provided is Wine Road standard glasses. Feel free to bring your favorite Pinot Glass.
• Smartphone to Tweet fave items (if on Twitter)

WiFi & Twitter: This IS a Twitter live event, so we do ask you Tweet about the wines, using primary hashtag #PinotSmackdown secondary #Ghouse (if can). (Easiest is to cut and paste each time.) Two open Wifi Spots will be available to use if your cell coverage (AT&T) is spotty.

Parking: ALL parking, save for pouring wineries, is on the street. Across the street is a vineyard with enough edge space for 30-40 cars. HIGH CLEARANCE Trucks/SUVS should also be able to park on my side of the road. (Look for my Silver FJ parked there.) Other cars should park on the opposite side of the road, adjacent to the vineyard.
